A Brief History of Perge
The name Perge first appears in Hittite records as “Parha.” The city flourished during the Hellenistic period due to its advanced urban planning and continued to thrive in Roman times. It became especially famous for its exquisite marble sculptures. Interestingly, the renowned Greek mathematician Apollonius was born here.
